Red Star Contract Manufacturing is a vertically integrated facility located in Larwill, Indiana. With expanded capabilities in injection molding, prototyping, and sterile packaging, we offer convenience and quality products to the customers we serve.

SUMMARY: Red Star Contract Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to contribute to the the efficiency, quality, and productivity of our engineering processes. The position will organize activities related to process implementation, as well as work with customers to drive successful new product launches. Additionally, the Process Engineer will troubleshoot problems with production, take corrective action, and evaluate operational feasibility requirements of new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes the following but other duties may be assigned)

Analyze current manufacturing methods and identify opportunities for improvement.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, quality, capability, and utilization.

Manage the integration of new products into existing manufacturing processes.

Estimate production timelines, labor requirements, and costs to support quoting efforts.

Work closely with production team(s) to address technical challenges and optimize workflow.

Work with maintenance personnel to prevent problems with machinery and related equipment.

Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.

Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed and in place before released to production.

Assist with training set-up associates on new product launches to meet target date.

Assist Quality with support for validations, first articles, PFEMAs, DOEs, and inspection criteria.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking. Work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Experience in manufacturing processes for insert molding, highly desirable

Computer literacy, including basic skills with Microsoft Word and Excel, plus the ability to use CAD software

Knowledge of machine tool design, software application, mold design, and ability to read blueprints and import solid models

Mastery of micrometer, precision scale, caliper, and other test/inspection equipment required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, preferred.

3+ Year's Experience in Process Engineering, preferably in a medical device or contract manufacturing environment.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
