Yates Industries is looking for a Saw Operator in our Austell, GA Plant!

Duties and Responsibilities:

Saw Operator will calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments

Review completed parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications

Saw Operator will complete preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled and maintains oil levels

Perform regular inspection of equipment

Saw Operator will assist with other job-related duties as required

Ensure the saw is kept clean and in good working condition with daily maintenance reviews

Saw Operator will review and understand the component drawings

Review all paperwork for jobs and arranges according to due date required by the customer

Saw Operator will pull required material from stock shelves

Measure required lengths to be cut adding 1/8" stock for machining allowance for material

Saw Operator will cut materials as required based on job priority or instructions from Production Manager

Place drawing with cut material once saw operation is complete

Saw Operator will identify and return un-used material to proper location

Load and unload raw stock from vendor truck, verifies material per purchase order, identifies material and places in raw material storage area/shelves

Saw Operator will observe safety at all times and reports any issues to Production Manager.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or 1-5 years of experience in a job shop environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Saws

Crane

Forklift

Pallet jacks

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

Ability to read blueprints

Ability to use and read tape measure and micrometers.

Ability to handle (load, unload, transport) all types and sizes of raw material

Ability to identify raw material
