Key Responsibilities
Design of transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber elements
Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review
Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and sometimes clients to complete projects
Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes
Develop engineers cost estimates
Guide junior staff by providing direction and constructive feedback
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
BS or MS in Civil Engineering
Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls
5+ years of experience in structural design
Project and / or Client Management experience is preferred
Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of structural design projects
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficiency with CADD software (preferably MicroStation or AutoCAD)
Proficiency with structural design software (i.e. Bentley LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge, MDX, MIDAS, etc)
DOT project experience is preferred
Ability and willingness to assist with inter-disciplinary projects outside of structural design
