FLSA: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Security Supervisor

Pay Scale: $18.18-$20.00/hour Revised Date: 3/1/24

Project 180 is a leader in the forensic treatment space, offering high-quality, specialized treatment programs that serve thousands of justice-involved individuals. Our programs span criminal justice intercepts and include pre-arrest interventions, court-based diversions, jail in-reach, and intensive post-release services. Project 180 operates in partnership with County agencies including the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Department of Health Services (DHS), and the Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD).

The Position

Under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, the Security officer is responsible for the safety and protection of clients, personnel, property, and premises at Project 180’s outpatient clinic. The security officer will provide a professional and welcoming experience to visitors and vulnerable individuals seeking information and services. Essential Functions:

Ensure safety and protection of clients, personnel, property, and premises

Control the entrance of the facility; ensure that clients and visitors are admitted per program and site guidelines.

Actively patrol and monitor activities in and outside of the facility, including parking lots and the facility perimeter, to ensure the environment is safe and secure. Monitor surveillance cameras and proactively intervene as indicated.

Take the lead to alert staff of emergent safety issues and provide clear instruction per safety policies. Escalate safety issues as appropriate.

Encourage clients to adhere to site guidelines and escalate any issues as appropriate.

Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement for safety continuity.

Collaborate with treatment teams and relevant entities to assist with the mitigation of risk.

Provide excellent customer service to clients and guests

Greet and welcome clients and guests in a friendly and professional manner. Assist them in connecting with the person or program they're visiting.

Respond to client complaints and provide instruction as to how to address the specific grievance.

Answer incoming calls and provide information and/or direct the call to the appropriate person.

Uphold agency policies and procedures:

Write and submit incident reports per program guidelines.

Complete data entry per program guidelines.

Consistently maintain professional and courteous demeanor with all clients and staff.

Conduct regular security and safety drills (i.e fire, earthquake, active shooter drills) per program guidelines.

Collaborate regularly with the Security Supervisor to report progress, escalate client/safety issues or concerns.

Fulfill baseline Project 180 staff expectations.

Regular attendance required. Holiday or weekend work may be required.

Maintain and uphold Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles.

Maintain active license and/or registrations as applicable (guard card)

Perform other duties as needed or as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

Experience working with culturally diverse populations.

Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and own vehicle required. Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle as needed.

Must not be on any type of legal supervision (probation or parole).

Job duties are to be performed both in the field and in office.

Physical Requirements

The employee is expected to move about the worksite throughout the day, which may involve walking, standing, and climbing stairs, or using a mobility device, or similar. The employee is expected to drive, carry a maximum of 20 lbs, listen, and speak in order to complete job requirements.

Mental Requirements

The employee must be able to do any/all of the following: perform complex and varied tasks such as synthesizing information and making decisions without immediate supervision; handle routine distractions, interruptions, noise, and uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules; interact professionally and diplomatically in high-stress situations; create and follow plans; meet deadlines.
