We have an R&D center in California and a pilot farm outside Nashville, TN.

We are hiring a construction manager to lead construction of a first of its kind, 50k square foot production facility on a plot of undeveloped land.

We are a small team seeking A+ talent to lead this project and take on increased responsibility as our footprint grows.

Job Description Hedgehog is looking for a Senior Construction Manager with experience coordinating contractors, executing greenfield construction projects, and directly leading a team of workers.

This position is a high-responsibility, high-influence role that reports directly to our CTO.

This individual will be involved in all aspects of the construction from start to finish and have a crucial role in shaping the outcome of the project.

After this project is complete, the role may extend to expansions at the Georgia site and future projects around the country.

The right candidate will have a proven history of success in agricultural and/or industrial construction and will thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities for this position include: Working with the CTO to vet and hire a team of dedicated workers Translating expectations for site functionality into clear contracts Handling contractor outreach and negotiations Spending a majority of time on-site during construction Enforcing quality control and safety precautions Coordinating regularly with the engineering and growing teams on project specifications Tracking progress and proactively ensuring on-time and on-budget execution Qualifications - do you meet most or all of: 8+ years of experience in facilities/construction roles Have managed an industrial or agricultural construction project as lead, supervising teams and multiple contractors Handled contract negotiation and dispute resolution with contractors and local government Experience bringing up greenfield sites Experience implementing and assessing quality-control processes on a large construction project Able to consult technical materials such as blueprints, engineering drawings, and circuit diagrams Expertise and training in safety practices (OSHA) Worked with local government / regulations / codes to complete projects on an expedited timeline Characteristics - do you describe yourself as: Organized and detail oriented Having a sense of urgency to get things done Happy to work long hours if it is needed Commanding authority/respect from subordinates A proactive and effective communicator Adaptable to changing environments and project specs Excited by the idea of working for a startup (fast paced, more chaotic, less oversight) Knowing the rulebook, but willing to deviate from it to get things done Inclusion & Drug Policy Hedgehog is a drug free workplace.
