Baker

Baker part-time, approximately 30 hours per week, $18-23 per hour, morning shift starting at 6 am The Dundee Bistro, an iconic Oregon wine country restaurant celebrating 25 years, is seeking an experienced baker to join our kitchen at our busy fine dining restaurant.

Candidate must be familiar with large quantity dough preparation for pizza, bread, and focaccia as well as cakes and cookies.

This is an early morning shift position of approximately 30 hours per week, possibility of full time if desired in the future.

Must have the ability to work independently, follow direction and have high standards for baked goods.

This is a physically active that position requires ability to stand for long duration, lift to 50 pounds and handle gluten, dairy and nut ingredients.

Responsibilities Prepare doughs for pizza, bread, focaccia Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form cookies, pie crusts, tarts Prepare and bake off all cakes Measure and weigh ingredients Prepare pastries, breads, desserts according to recipes Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment Pastry prep work Measure and weigh ingredients Technical Qualifications Experience working as a pastry assistant, baker, or similar role in a commercial kitchen or graduate from a professional culinary school Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial baking role Familiar with commercial equipment for preparing and finishing baked goods Ability to adapt volume and quantity for restaurant needs Knowledge of different fermentation types Familiar with proof cabinet Behavioral Skills Dedicated to working with a team towards company objectives Attention to detail in all aspects of the kitchen Highly adaptable to various situations and stress levels Ability to multi-task Excellent communication skills We are looking forward to receiving your application.
