Summary

Performs difficult administrative work guiding and managing the overall provision of Human Resources services and policies including employment, benefits, and employee relations for the Authority, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Administration.

Essential Functions

Administer compensation and benefit plans; Administers welfare or benefit plans, including hiring, changes, and terminations.

Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.

Creates onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on organizational policies, internal procedures, and regulations.

Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise.

Process and record various data related to termination and provide real time updates to Payroll.

Gather information and prepare various reports for management.

Serve as liaison between other HR teams and internal customers.

Handle administrative duties on behalf of the Director and Department; process office supply requisitions, including but not limited to purchase order and payment facilitation.

Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, three (3) years of working experience as a HR Generalist or similar roles, two (2) years of experience with HR Information Systems (working knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus), two (2) years of experience administering benefits plans, compensation, and invoicing. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Special Requirements

Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.
