Job Description
Internship Title: Communications Internship (Strategic Communications Team)
Description: This is a nine-month hybrid internship (September 2024 - May 2025) in which the intern will be closely integrated within our Strategic Communications team to create visual media and to communicate the work of the Trust and its partners.
Strategic Communications Overview
The Strategic Communications team is responsible for establishing and elevating the Trust brand across key stakeholders. This includes utilizing media relations, social media, storytelling, digital assets, and external events.
Requirements: The Strategic Communications Intern reports to the Content Specialist but will support and engage with the entire Strategic Communications team. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, is required. Experience with Canva and digital analytics tools is preferred. Photography skills are a plus, but not required.
Expected Assignments:
The Strategic Communications Intern will assist with research for talking points, scheduling interviews, photo sessions and videotaping, editing PowerPoints, developing social media content, creating podcast promotional materials, drafting news releases and web content, and supporting event planning.
Ideal majors: Communications, Journalism, Digital Media/Marketing, Public Policy, or other related fields.
Salary: $20.00/hour
Hours per week: 21 hours from September 2024 - May 2025 (2 days in office; 1 day remote)
Internship Timeframe: September 2024 - May 2025
