Gaudenzia is a leader in the addiction treatment and recovery services since 1968. Gaudenzia operates roughly 117 programs throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Distric of Columbia. We are seeking an individual that is capable of achieving and maintaining outstanding interior and exterior buildings as assigned. Position will have room for growth and movement throughout the company.

This individual will be responsible for performing all maintenance repairs (at a Journeyman's or Master level Mechanical Aptitude and Competence in Maintenance and Construction) independently and assisting contractors in performing major repairs and maintenance work. Position requires motivated individual requiring minimal supervision. Candidate must possess basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills. Position requires a can-do attitude with ability to prioritize tasks. This individual will report to the Director of Maintenance and the Director of the facility, division or region in which they are assigned.

This individual is capable of performing repairs and maintenance work independently and of assisting contractors in performing major repairs and maintenance work. This person reports to the Director of Maintenance.

Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. Work is reviewed by an evaluation of the timely and accurate completion of assignments.

This level of employee is expected to work completely independent. Schedule, plan and execute the assigned tasks with little direction or oversite. This person should be able to think of obstacles and remove or plan around them.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds.

Schedule and oversee routine inspections of buildings and grounds by outside inspectors when needed.

Oversee, inspect and schedule repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, windows, doors, roofs, gutters, etc.

Complete all maintenance assignments for the properties assigned, including minor carpentry, trim work, sheetrock & taping, install flooring, ceramic tile, painting and other projects.

Maintain landscaping of the properties assigned, including cutting grass, killing weeds, trimming shrubs and trees, planting grass seed and trees, etc. and/or oversee this service with a contracted professional landscaper.

Keep exterior grounds free and clear of all debris, snow, leaves, etc.

Inspect recreational areas and equipment for maintenance required.

Eliminate safety hazards when possible; report all safety issues to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.

Maintain all tools and equipment in a safe, secure work environment.

Assist and monitor contractors in renovation/building projects.

Run errands and make trips in order to obtain necessary equipment and supplies.

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Director when other maintenance projects are not in process.

Supervise other maintenance staff or maintenance contractors as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED & valid certification in specialties within the maintenance field

Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Experience: Seven (7) years’ experience in a related area

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to have clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.

Must be able to drive a vehicle.

Must be able to ascend/ descend stairs.

Must be able to push/ pull.

Must be able to stand/ sit for extended period with reasonable breaks.

Must be able to reach overhead and bend/ stoop.
