Responsibilities:

Learn It Systems is looking for camp facilitators to work in our summer enrichment program in Detroit. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, interdisciplinary team of professionals focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need.

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate camp facilitators to join our enrichment program this summer! We are seeking qualified candidates to facilitate STEM, Performing Arts, Sports and Recreation activities to students in 1st – 8th grade.

Responsibilities:

Interact with children in small groups (max of 15)

Ability to manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures

Arrives prior to the start of the Summer School Camp and assists in preparing the enrichment area(s).

Stays after the end of the Summer School Camp to close down the enrichment area(s)

Actively engages students and advocates the Summer School Camp for Learn It

Establishes a positive rapport with both parents and staff

Has the capability to create and deliver enrichment lesson plans/activities for elementary students

Creates a supportive learning environment for all students

Summer Camp Training Schedule: June 17th – June 21st Monday – Friday 12:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Summer Camp Schedule: June 24th – July 26th Monday – Friday 12:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. (closed July 4th and 5th)

School Location: Barton Elementary School, 8530 Joy Rd, Detroit, MI 48204

Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Qualifications:

HS Diploma

Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment

STEM, Performing Arts, Sports and Recreation experience preferred

Computer literacy is a must

Background Check/Fingerprinting is required

Ability to provide a high level of customer service to principals, classroom teachers, and parents

Must be able to lift 30 pounds

Work location is in a school building where employee will need to be able to go up and down stairs

Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head

Hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
