ZCorum is a pioneer in providing managed services and award-winning diagnostics solutions to Internet Service Providers across the globe. This is a direct hire position. ZCorum is based in Alpharetta, GA .This position can be a remote position if you reside in Georgia as we may need you to come to the office for trainings and such from time to time. Must be authorized to work in the U.S./Sponsorship is not available.

JOB SUMMARY

The goal of this position is to assure the quality, security, availability and timely delivery of all application offerings to 24x7x365 multi-site physical, virtual and cloud environments. The environments includes highly reliable, networked, application and database systems in a distributed LINUX environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be a mix of QA, DevOps and Systems Administration. Activities will include application deployment, configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, data management, security management, failure analysis and recovery, and tier 1 user support.

QA

Provide hands-on QA evaluation of custom and third party software deliverables including functional, regression, system, and integration testing to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies

Work with the development team to create QA testing plans, automated testing scripts and software builds

Assist the business account management, systems and development teams in debugging and resolving customer impacting application related issues

Manage and maintain the Development and QA lab environments

DevOps

Provide automation and provisioning of application services through use of scripting (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc.), orchestration (Foreman, Katello, Kickstart) and configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)

Implement and execute automation and orchestration strategies on all supported platforms and environments to improve overall speed, security and quality of application deliverables

Collaborate in development and systems engineering sprint meetings

Systems Administration

Conduct system and application security scans to identify risks, coordinate global patch releases and remediate identified issues to assure compliance with standard security policies

Provide Tier1 operational systems support for internally and externally facing applications and environments

Gain and maintain familiarity with all operating environments

Provide improvement suggestions regarding the security, usability, performance, maintainability, and scalability of the existing environment

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Assist with various projects for Director of System Engineering.

·Any other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degrees (B.A.) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Networking, or related field.

· College, technical school, or experience in computer operations or related coursework and experience.

· 3-5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering/Data Center Operations.

· 3+ years’ experience in IT Operations.

· 3+ years Linux Administration.

· 3+ years IT Support Operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· A good understanding of NFS, ISCSI, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IMAP, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL/Percona, Oracle, LDAP, RADIUS, SNMP and TCP/IP(IPv4 & IPv6).

· Strong ability to perform troubleshooting, problem resolution, analysis and recovery.

· Solid knowledge of RHEL/Centos and/or Ubuntu/Debian Linux.

· Ability to provide operational system administration support for LINUX, Solaris, Windows, Pure and Nimble Storage based systems in high availability, 24x7x365 environment.

· Proficiency in systems scripting (i.e. Python, Perl, awk, sed, Bash, etc).

· Knowledge of networking fundamentals (i.e. VLANs, Switches, Routers, etc.).

· Familiarity with enterprise backups, clustering, virtualization, cloud services and high-availability in a Linux environment.

· Experience with Prelude, OSSEC, OpenVas, Kick Start, RPM Builds, Puppet, OCS Inventory, Nagios/CheckMK, Spacewalk, Foreman, Katello, Metasploit, BackTrack, VMWare, AWS, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Maven a plus.

· Ability to monitor alerting systems and servers.

· Provide and receive cross training from immediate support team

· Ability to analyze and interpret data.
