Scenic Painter III

Objective

To provide an excellent finished product representing the skills and capabilities held by the company. To accurately represent the desired look and feel of a client’s proposed project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scenic Paint Helper:

Responsible for adhering to all Company and Project safety programs, policies, and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and local safety codes and regulations.

Working with urethanes, water based, oil based, stains, lacquers, epoxies, etc.

Use of tools including spray guns, airless sprayers, sanders, grinders, etc.

Exposure and use of bodywork materials including bondo, wood putty, caulk, spot putty, etc.

Accurately and efficiently put-away or pick material

Participate in team/safety meetings.

Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the Shop

In addition to above:

Molding materials including resins, silicone, fiberglass, etc.

Bodywork materials including bondo, wood putty, caulk, spot putty, etc.

Perform paint techniques such as washes, glazes, textures, base coating and clear coating

Perform tasks in repetition by meet deadlines.

Basic understanding of theming rockwork, figure, and character theming

Basic understanding in color mixing, small scale theme painting, spatters, washes, how to create wood grain, metal, aging

Experienced and knowledge of application with Automotive finish and Base coat

Competent to mix colors and washes.

Full scale Scenic & Theming finish

Ability to creating wood, metal and aging/distressing of most things

Qualifications / Experience/ Skills and Attributes

Requirements:

Strong time management and planning skills.

Strong knowledge of painting machinery and techniques.

Ability to absorb and reproduce techniques and procedures using approved materials and tools.

A personal value system demonstrably consistent with organizational values

Show proper care and respect for personal and company tools and materials

Must be enthusiastic, hardworking, desire to learn and ready to share their knowledge.

Ability to be punctual and dependable.

Level II: 3+ years’ extensive knowledge and work experience in the theming industry as a scenic artist.

Work Schedule / Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting.

Hours: 6am – 2:30pm (MON-FRI)

30-minute lunch (unpaid)

15-minute break (paid)

Work environment will change often and will require consistent awareness to surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. with assistance from others or lifting devices from floor to waist and waist to floor.

Ability to walk, hear, see in order to reasonably perform essential job functions.

Must have agility and a good sense of balance, willing to work in high places.
