Salary:

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation is seeking a part-time School Bus Driver to transport our therapeutic day school students to local community outings.

The Bus Driver will:

Assist in loading and unloading passengers as necessary.

Safely transport passengers.

Follow instructions from Day School Staff involving student interactions.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections.

Communicate with Day School and Foundation staff professionally and appropriately.

Comply with all traffic regulations and observe weather conditions or other hazardous situations and maintain safe situations for students and staff.

Independently complete scheduled routes for the day in a timely manner with use of GPS directions.

Document trips and maintain deleted logs in collaboration with the Transportation Coordinator.

Perform routine bus evacuation drills as required by Illinois State Board of Education.

Report any required maintenance to the Development and Operations Director and re-fuel vehicle as needed.

Take bus for 6 month state check.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2 years transportation or driving experience.

At least 21 years of age.

Must have a CDL driver's license with "P" and "S" endorsements.

Must currently have or be able to obtain School Bus Driver Permit.

Must pass background check and drug screening.

Must have a clean driving record and ability to remain in compliance with ISBE regulations.

Must be able to pass Illinois State Physical Examination for School Bus Drivers.

CPR/1st Aid Certification is preferred.
