Job Description:

The Systems Engineer II is an intermediate-level technical support role responsible for administering and supporting Russell Investments’ compute infrastructure. You will directly supports mission critical servers across all Russell Investments’ global sites. You will also work closely with Sr. Systems Engineers and partners with leadership in Seattle, WA. Technical knowledge and experience supporting Active Directory, Windows servers, and VMware environments are a must.

Years of Experience

3 years of relevant industry experience

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Troubleshooting performance related issues

Experience in IT service delivery using the ITIL framework

Ability to communicate complex technical details to all levels of management

Expertise in understanding, setting, and managing customer expectations

Ability to understand and solve complex problems quickly

Responsibilities

Day-to-day operational support and maintenance (including patching and upgrading) of the compute environments

Maintains detailed documentation and inventory of all managed environments

Responsible for timely on-call response to incidents

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company data without exception

Maintain an instant and trending view of the health of the infrastructure

Participate in other IT projects and/or tasks as needed

Candidate Requirements

Microsoft Windows Server

Enterprise Level Active Directory Support

VMware – vCenter, ESXi and vSAN (HCI)

Server hardware support and configuration (preferably Dell PowerEdge)

Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Perl, etc.)

Desired certifications: MCSE, VCP
