Salary Range: Starting at $85,000 + DOEE + Benefits

Summary:

The IT Specialist II is tasked with the administration and oversight of security monitoring tools to protect the IT infrastructure. This role involves proactive daily management of incident tickets, prompt resolution of vulnerabilities, and collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to address security compromises. They will ensure the integrity and security of desktops, servers, printers, and network infrastructure equipment, while staying informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends and performs the day-to-day tasks required to provide general computer hardware and software related support to end users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities are essential to this role:

Administer tools that monitor IT Security, ensuring a secure computing environment that includes desktops, servers, printers, and network infrastructure equipment.

Collaborate with other technical and non-technical users to resolve identified vulnerabilities and security compromises.

Maintain and update documented Cyber Security policies and procedures to reflect current best practices and organizational requirements.

Make recommendations for enhancing Cyber Security and controls to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Manage and respond to cybersecurity incident tickets, ensuring that each is addressed promptly, with ongoing updates provided to stakeholders until resolution.

Work with IT Management & Auditors to coordinate and conduct security audits, including risk assessment and analysis, to ensure robust security measures are in place.

Research attempted security breaches and rectify security weaknesses.

Administer critical security systems including Firewalls, Endpoint Security, Intrusion Prevention Devices, Network Access Control Systems, Internet Filtering systems, Email SPAM Filtering systems, and Phishing exercise products.

End-User Desktop Computer Support (Help Desk):

Provides general computer hardware and software related support to end-users.

Maintains timely, accurate and descriptive documentation of all technical support tasks using the IT department’s help desk support software.

Develops and maintains a library of PowerShell admin scripts that automate many of the day-to-day tasks required to maintain Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Server, and SharePoint.

Network Administration:

Develops scripts to automate repetitive network administration tasks.

Designs and maintains Remote Desktop Services (a.k.a. Terminal Server) configurations and

troubleshoots all operational problems.

Maintains and troubleshoots network security, including employee login accounts and profiles, in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Configures, installs, and troubleshoots LAN, WAN, Intranet, and Internet connectivity in accordance with approved department guidelines.

Maintains corporate data backup operations in accordance with department policies and procedure.

General:

Attends training events and staff meetings as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Cyber Security or a related field is strongly preferred, or must have at least three years of relevant network / cyber security experience. Master’s degree in cyber security will be recognized for years of experience.

Proficiency in vulnerability scanning tools and technologies, with the ability to conduct scans, analyze results, and guide remediation efforts.

Must have excellent computer skills, including extensive work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).

Basic programming experience

Extensive experience in network administration script development.

Extensive experience in developing interfaces between database systems.

Experience in health services administration or non-profit environment is helpful.

Must be a dynamic self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently on special projects.

Must be able to work independently while working in one of the branch offices.

Physical: Occasionally required to push/pull objects up to 50 lbs., and to lift/carry objects up to 30 lbs.

Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written reports, and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand / be understood using the English language.

Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.

Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office and mixed (residential/office) environments. Occasional exposure to toxins and poisonous substances, dust, and loud noises.

Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, desk phone, and cell phone.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.

This position will require driving so maintaining a valid CA driver license, reliable personal automobile, a clean driving record, and current insurance as required by law are essential job requirements.

A personal cell phone with reliable service and, if applicable, a data plan to use for business purposes.

Will occasionally be required to work nights and/or weekends as needed to perform system maintenance that would disrupt the users if performed during normal working hours.
