Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Staunton, Virginia. This role will be based in the accounting industry, where you will be responsible for a range of financial tasks, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger management.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations

• Conduct regular Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

• Manage and maintain the General Ledger

• Prepare and record Journal Entries in QuickBooks

• Assist in preparing Individual Tax Returns

• Regularly review and update customer credit records

• Monitor customer credit accounts and initiate actions for delinquent payments

• Resolve customer credit inquiries in a timely and efficient manner

• Process customer credit applications with accuracy and diligence.• Must hold a degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, or similar role within the accounting field

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Profound knowledge of General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately

• Must be skilled in using QuickBooks for accounting purposes

• Experience in preparing Individual Tax Returns is necessary

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
