We are offering an exciting opportunity in the wholesale distribution industry, located in Suffolk, Virginia. This role is focused on Accounts Receivable Clerk functions, where you will be responsible for supporting the collection efforts of the company’s accounts receivable accounts across all divisions.

Responsibilities include:

• Handling high volume accounts, collection resolution, and third-party escalation.

• Conducting credit reviews and providing risk rating assessments and recommendations.

• Applying daily cash to assigned accounts, issuing customer statements and improving transactional efficiencies.

• Working cross-functionally with internal teams; collaborating with Sales as needed.

• Collecting all due and past due receivables, ensuring that collection performance is within the given guidelines.

• Reviewing individual scorecards to ensure portfolio is in line with department KPI’s.

• Performing monthly analysis of accounts to research and resolve any unapplied cash, credits, or disputed payments from customers.

• Escalating disputed and non-responsive situations to internal/external contacts.

• Authorizing credit releases and system overrides.

• Communicating effectively to a wide audience of business partners regarding financial risks and exposure to the organization.

• Identifying accounts which may present a business credit risk, require credit hold, or outside collection escalation.

• Recording information about the financial status of the customer and documenting the status of collection efforts.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts receivable (AR).

• Experience in billing, cash applications, and cash collections.

• Demonstrated skills in commercial collections.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Excel Formulas.

• Familiarity with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP systems.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
