Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is a vital part of the accounting/finance department at the Company. The Controller will work directly with accounting staff at individual operating companies and oversee/assist in the preparation of internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage all accounting operations including Billing, AR, A/P, General Ledger, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Oversees the production of monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Support month-end and year-end close process.

Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Creates and assists in the formulation of Cash Flow forecasting for the operating companies as well as total company roll up.

Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Assist with preparation of bank reporting package and board presentations.

Research technical accounting issues as needed.

Oversee accounting staff at individual locations.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Required Skills/Abilities:

CPA license preferred.

Very hands on; a “roll up the sleeves and work” mentality needed.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Excellent management and supervisory skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Ten years or more of related experience required- exceptions made for public accounting experience.

Public Accounting experience preferred. Construction accounting experience preferred. Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Some travel will be required.
