Job title: Mechanical Engineer (For design)

Salary: $80,000 - $160,000

Location: Hammonton, New Jersey

This construction company are now looking to add an additional Mechanical Engineer for design to their team based in Hammonton, New Jersey.

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer specializing in mechanical equipment and piping for utility and industrial applications. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and possesses hands-on experience in natural gas systems engineering and operations. Project scopes encompass a broad range, including meter and regulator station design, process piping, system enhancements, and new service main installations. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely on project sites in addition to a designated home office.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review and analyze civil, mechanical, instrumentation, or electrical plans, in conjunction with site survey data.

· Perform sizing and selection of pipes, components, and relevant equipment to meet project-specific requirements.

· Specify gas system components, including piping, control valves, regulators, and instrumentation.

· Design mechanical system elements such as piping, valves, pumps, and heat exchangers, ensuring compliance with project standards.

· Coordinate design activities with clients, vendors, and internal interdisciplinary teams.

· Conduct sizing calculations and performance assessments.

· Assist in the preparation of project plans, reports, and technical documentation.

Some of the skills and experience that we are hoping for in the successful candidate:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

· 5-15 years of relevant experience.

· EIT / PE license preferred.

· Proficiency in piping codes and regulations, including ASME B31 family and 49 CFR 192/195.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with increasing levels of autonomy.

· Project management experience is advantageous.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational abilities with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

· Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Proficiency in computer applications, including CAD, GIS, word processing, and spreadsheet software.

· Willingness to engage in fieldwork as required, typically ranging from 10-25% of the time.
