Job Title: T-SQL Developer with Perl

Location: Weehawken, New Jersey, United States

Summary:

As T-SQL Developer with Perl, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. You will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers for high transaction environments.

Design and implement database schema, tables, and relationships to ensure data integrity and performance.

Utilize Perl scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Automate routine database maintenance tasks and system operations using Perl.

Collaborate with the development team to integrate database operations with existing Perl applications.

Conduct performance tuning of T-SQL queries and indexes to improve database efficiency.

Manage database backups, restores, and updates while ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.

Provide support for database-related issues; troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Create and maintain detailed documentation for database schemes and Perl scripts.

Keep abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in database development and scripting languages.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 4 years of experience in database development with a strong command of T-SQL.

Proficiency in Perl scripting with a track record of developing and maintaining scripts.

Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is preferred.

Familiarity with database design principles and transactional systems.

Knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and database maintenance.

Good understanding of data privacy and security principles.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Desired Skills:

Experience with other database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

Familiarity with other scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.

Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.

Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Perl programming are a plus.
