Director of Operations and Communications

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Operations and Communications is the primary liaison between administrative tasks and public facing interactions. The ideal candidate will have an ability to shift between duties throughout the course of a regular workday. This position is the first contact most individuals will interact with regarding events, digital media outreach and publicity, and daily operations.

REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree in any related subject area combined with a minimum of three years’ experience in administrative and marketing is necessary. A working knowledge of Wix, Meta, Constant Contact, and both Google and Office programs preferred.

Primary duties include

1. Office Management: mail, deposits, accounts, phone, recordkeeping, file management, banking, bill paying, insurance, onboarding new employees, oversight of other administrative duties.

a. Primary point of contact for our accounting firm that does payroll, invoices, taxes, and other accounting services.

2. Marketing and publicity: social media posting and reporting across Constant Contact, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and LinkedIn, creating relevant posts and events shared across social spaces; print and television media, press releases & other marketing campaigns

3. Technology Management: maintain and edit the Wix-based website, software and equipment updates/maintenance, updating shared google calendar with relevant events and activities.

4. Primary contact for anytime cleanups, special cleanup events, and any other ongoing campaigns, including but not limited to communicating with cleanup groups, collecting supplies and reports, data management of cleanup totals and teams.

5. Lead on inventory, supplies. & storage areas, reordering as needed

6. Assist with contract reporting and administration

7. Maintain donor spreadsheet and acknowledge monetary gifts received by the organization.

8. Assist with interns/volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS

Some of the qualifications you will need to thrive in this role are enthusiasm and ability to engage others in the community through various methods, including online, telephone, and in person communication. A love of people and skill in developing relationships of mutual respect and curiosity to protect and preserve our natural resources is essential to this position.

Some weekends and nights related to events will be expected, with comp time off during the same week.

Salary is $37,000. A hybrid office and home work environment. PTO and a health stipend are provided.
