Overview:

As a Critical Component Engineer (Compliance), you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of critical components used in our products. You will play a pivotal role in the design, evaluation, qualification, and lifecycle management of critical components to meet stringent requirements and standards. This position requires a strong technical background, analytical skills, and attention to detail to ensure the integrity and functionality of critical components.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Component and Evaluation:

- Identify critical components required for product designs based on functional requirements, performance specifications, and reliability targets.

- Conduct thorough research and analysis to evaluate potential suppliers, technologies, and materials for critical components.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define component requirements, specifications, and performance criteria.

2. Design and Development Support:

- Provide technical guidance and support to design engineers during the selection, integration, and implementation of critical components into product designs.

- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to identify potential issues and ensure design robustness.

- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to optimize component designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Component Qualification and Testing:

- Develop and execute qualification plans and test protocols to validate critical component performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications.

- Conduct reliability testing, environmental testing, and accelerated life testing to assess component durability and longevity.

- Analyze test data, identify failure modes, and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions and improvements.

4. Supplier Management and Collaboration:

- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers of critical components to ensure alignment with quality, performance, and delivery requirements.

- Collaborate with suppliers on component design optimization, process improvements, and quality assurance initiatives.

- Monitor supplier performance, quality metrics, and compliance with contractual obligations to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks.

5. Lifecycle Management and Continuous Improvement:

- Monitor industry trends, advancements in technology, and changes in regulatory requirements to anticipate future challenges and opportunities related to critical components.

- Develop strategies and plans for the lifecycle management of critical components, including obsolescence management, product redesigns, and alternative sourcing options.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and quality improvement through component redesign, value engineering, and supply chain optimization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science) or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- 2 years of experience in component engineering, reliability engineering, product development, or a related role, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

- Strong technical knowledge of component technologies, materials, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance methodologies.

- Strong understanding of UR/UL listings on the components.

- Experience with reliability testing, failure analysis, and root cause analysis techniques.

- Proficiency in engineering analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, FEA, statistical analysis) and CAD software.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
