Aerospace Manufacturing/Production Manager

We are seeking a Production Manager for our company which produces aerospace components. The person we're looking for must have over 5 years experience and a strong working knowledge of reading & interpreting blueprints as well as hands on assembly and testing of mechanical, hydraulic and electronic helicopter components. This candidate will supervise and direct shop personnel and processes to ensure efficient and on-time production schedules in accordance with safety and quality standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop routings and work instructions in conjunction with manufacturing engineer. Plan, direct and assign duties for personnel in assembly, hydraulics, avionics and paint.

Train employees on manufacturing functions; conduct safety orientation; assure that established policies and procedures are followed.

Coordinate the development of manufacturing methods, processes and tooling to produce new products. Review, approve and implement engineering drawing changes (EDCs) as appropriate; update manufacturing documentation including assembly manuals.

Oversee and supervise all functions related to the manufacturing of parts including control of work in process (WIP). Perform manufacturing and interim quality checks in coordination with Engineering and Quality Departments.

Troubleshoot any production problems, assure that machinery, shop equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production; report any process or equipment problems to Senior Management.

THIS IS A HANDS ON POSITION. Experience with Sikorsky spare parts preferred. AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency a plus as well as a special emphasis on hydraulic assembly and testing.
