A little bit about the role…

As Continental Underwriters continues to expand, we are looking to add a Risk Assessment Representative to our growing Risk Assessment Team. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well autonomously, thrives on curiosity and collaboration, and is dedicated to the success of the entire team. As our Risk Assessment Representative, you will be responsible for:

Providing a consultative approach to risk assessment, ensuring comprehensive understanding and tailored strategies.

Conducting thorough Risk Assessment visits for forest products insureds in designated territories.

Compiling detailed reports and recommendations following each assessment.

Collaborating closely with the Underwriting Team to optimize decision making processes.

Leveraging expertise to analyze operations, pinpoint risks, and formulate effective solutions.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform risk mitigation strategies and decision making.

Demonstrating eagerness to learn, curiosity, and consultative skills.

Embracing constructive criticism and utilizing it for personal and professional growth.

You are able to be on-site at our Richmond location and are willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.

You think critically and have excellent problem solving skills (bonus points for ASP/CSP/CFPS certifications and/or previous experience in insurance or risk assessment).

You possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex risks effectively.

You work with a sense of urgency, never miss deadlines, and thrive at time management.

You excel in written and verbal communication and can liaise information between teams to drive results.
