Audio Visual Specialist

Position Title: Cisco AV Technician

Location: Queens/ LIC, NYC- Onsite

Duration: Contract

Experience: 5- 10 years

Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual (AV) systems and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.

Set up and operate AV equipment for meetings, events, presentations, and conferences.

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on AV systems to identify and address potential issues proactively.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand AV requirements and provide technical support and solutions accordingly.

Assist in the design and implementation of AV solutions, incorporating Cisco technologies where applicable.

Collaborate with IT teams to integrate AV systems with existing network infrastructure and ensure compatibility and security.

Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on AV equipment operation and best practices.

Stay updated on emerging AV technologies, trends, and industry developments, particularly those related to Cisco technologies.

Document AV system configurations, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and future use.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

years of experience working as an AV technician or in a similar role.

Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting AV systems, including audio and video conferencing equipment, microphones, speakers, projectors, and displays.

Hands-on experience with Cisco AV technologies, such as Cisco Webex, Cisco TelePresence, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and network security principles.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)) are a plus.
