Job Summary:

The Satellite Operator (SatOps) will be a vital member of the team, responsible for ensuring the operational success of satellite missions. This role demands a strong background in satellite systems, acute attention to detail, and a commitment to the flawless functioning of space technologies. This is a fantastic role for a recent graduate from an Remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science background.

Essential Job Functions and Desired Accomplishments:

Perform daily monitoring and commanding tasks for satellites and ground network operations.

Monitor satellite operations, respond to alarms, and coordinate troubleshooting activities.

Execute commands and procedures on satellites, ensuring nominal and anomalous operations.

Support payload operations and assist in spacecraft anomaly analysis.

Monitor the ground station network and assist with pass activities.

Conduct regular checks on spacecraft performance trends and contribute to analysis reports.

Maintain shift logs and participate in shift briefings.

Assist in documenting Satellite Operations procedures.

Attend required trainings and meetings.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM (remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science) or higher.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Proficient in written and oral communication.

Ability to work a rotating schedule including holidays, weekends, and night shifts.

Ability to obtain clearance.

Desired:

Experience in Satellite Operations.

Scripting or Python programming experience.

Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
