Senior Design Engineer needed for Aerospace Manufacturing Company
An expanding aerospace components manufacturing company is looking to add a Senior Design Engineer to their team in New York.
The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of advanced aerospace qualified hardware for assigned product lines and development of new products. They will be expected to work closely with major customers in order to best translate client requests into new designs and new product lines.
The Principal Design Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
Generate new product designs as well as design modifications to existing product lines to satisfy customer requirements.
Direct building of prototypes and development hardware.
Coordinate the required design and technical activities for new projects.
Provide design solutions to manufacturing problems.
Review and coordinate procedures for hardware development, acceptance, and qualification testing.
Provide supervisory guidance to more junior Design Engineers on projects – including proposal and development work.
Preform or verify engineering technical calculations in order to meet business performance and safety standards.
Prepare supplier document requirement lists for internal design reviews.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of Design Engineering experience
Project management experience.
Technical writing experience – acceptance test procedures, qualification test reports, design reports, etc.
Experience in design of mechanical components, valves, motors, etc.
CADD – SolidWorks knowledge strongly preferred.
Interest in problem solving and continuous improvement.
Exhibit strong knowledge of engineering principals – including fluid flow and dynamics, strength of materials, thermal analysis, etc.
Strong communication skills required – this individual will need to be able to communicate with clients, sales team, and other engineers.
