Overview

Our client is investing heavily in data and analytics. With that they are in the process of building out their Global Data Analytics team. They have already developed a 5 year strategic plan around their data strategy and the executive leadership team is 100% on board with it.

They are a Microsoft shop, currently a hybrid Azure/on-prem environment, but are in the midst of moving everything over to the cloud. They are running Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and got chosen as early adopters for implementing Azure Fabric.

This position entails advancing and evolving our clients Business Intelligence function to furnish the organization with essential insights vital for sustained growth in strategic domains. The ideal candidate will assume a central role in the conceptualization, construction, and upkeep of our business intelligence solutions, ensuring that data-driven perspectives underpin our decision-making processes. As the regional BI Developer, proficiency across the entire SSAS and Power BI spectrum is indispensable for swift identification and implementation of solutions to incidents or requests, thus ensuring seamless operation and continual enhancement of our BI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer Power BI, overseeing configuration, management, and maintenance of reports and dashboards. Develop and sustain comprehensive BI solutions utilizing a range of BI tools and technologies. Resolve Helpdesk tickets related to BI.

• Harness Power BI, DAX, and Power Query to craft user-friendly, interactive visualizations and reports that optimize our operational workflows.

• Employ the latest iterations of SQL Server to interrogate and troubleshoot databases for reporting and analytics purposes. Develop, deploy, and oversee reports and data integration processes using SSRS and SSIS. Demonstrate adeptness in source control procedures and collaboration tools.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive process enhancements and facilitate strategic business expansion.

• Operate within project management frameworks and development cycles. Enhance existing Analysis Services Tabular Cubes and/or Power BI data models for improved data analysis.

• Document and resolve common BI issues for broader IT Team reference.

• Prioritize tasks effectively and remain adaptable amidst evolving circumstances. Exhibit a constructive, proactive attitude, displaying strong work ethic, creative problem-solving abilities, and a penchant for sharing best practices.

• Employ effective communication and listening skills to collaborate closely with diverse cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring scalability of BI solutions across global operations.

Experience/Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a BI Full Stack Developer (at Power BI Administrator level) with a proven history of delivering end-to-end BI solutions.

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem is highly advantageous. Proficiency in Power BI, Azure Data Factory, DAX, and Power Query for creating compelling data visualizations.

• Understanding of Data Warehouse design, including dimensional modeling and data mining.

• Proficiency with the latest iterations of SQL Server.

• Competence in SSRS and SSIS for reporting and data integration.

• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong decision-making abilities, including the capacity to assess and prioritize business requirements, proactive initiative, and autonomy.

• Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for senior Power BI developers, as precise data analysis and reporting form the bedrock of informed business decisions.
