Strategic Alliance Director
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage two or more Bayer pharma alliances with external partners according to highest standards and best possible benefit for Bayer
Able to timely and proactively solve disputes/potential issues in a constructive manner involving all relevant functions
Set up proper alliance management “health checks” with timely review with line manager. Escalate potential issues once identified.
Be the key interface between Bayer Pharma and partner’s key players on matters of governance, contractual and Business Development topics
Oversee project governance and is typically a member of JSC and similar joint governance committees
Develop strong counterpart relationships to build trust and act as an effective communication channel between Bayer and the partner – outside the normal operational team channels
Familiarization with the major operational issues relating to the alliance
Accountability for compliance with divisional and corporate Bayer governance standards
To give new alliances the best possible start, work with cross-functional colleagues on new collaboration agreements, in-licensing deals, partnerships, alliances, M&A, and divestments (before signing)
Establish alliance charters for alliances being managed
Familiarization with best external practice and ongoing evolution of Alliance Management function/activities
WHO YOU ARE
Minimum 7 years in business development or equivalent experience, e.g. new product commercialization, marketing, project management, etc.
Bachelor’s degree or above. Specialization in Medical/ Pharmaceutics/ Business/Finance preferred. MBA is highly desired
Strong leadership skills, includingcross-functional team-building, conflict resolution and management.
Good project management experience, including cross-functional team-building, conflict resolution and management, timeline management and milestone deliverables.
Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem solving skills; Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to project objectives.
Ability to summarize abstract ideas clearly and independently manage project objectives.
Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, business analysis and financial modeling;
Good verbal and written communication skills in English, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.
