The IPL team is looking to fill the role of Health & Safety Manager to support their Lee's Summit, Missouri manufacturing facility.

The Lee’s Summit facility is one of the primary manufacturing sites for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers, lids, overcaps and custom packaging solutions for branded and private label food and consumer product companies all over the world. IPL is the trusted innovation partner to some of the biggest brands in the world and by working closely with customers to design and develop the right solution, millions of people around the world use our products every day.

This position will actively participate in the management of activities related to the Health & Safety strategies, policies, processes and regulations. The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for performing various tasks to maintain the current safety program, H&S activities, performance tracker compliance, and to maintain environmental systems for applicable standards for the assigned locations.

Position Title: Health & Safety Manager

Location: Lee's Summit, Missouri

What you will bring to the role:

Manage all activities related to health and safety strategies, policies, processes, changes, and regulations.

Lead the implementation of health and safety strategies, identifying possible avenues for continuous improvement through health and safety awareness campaigns.

Oversee site investigations along with supervisors and managers; make recommendations on actions to be taken and follow up on action plans to resolve incidents.

Act as company representative during all site health and safety inspection visits; communicate outcome and resolutions of such visits.

Collaborate with the global IPL group in the sharing of information, strategies, and site activities.

Perform all other tasks required by the position and depending on the circumstances.

Essential experience and skills:

Related bachelor’s degree preferred.

OHS, EHS, or QMS certification in management or Diploma (required, or able to obtain within first twelve month of employment).

Knowledge of current OSHA regulations and Environmental standards.

5+ years proven experience in leading a safety department within a manufacturing operation, multisite is a plus.

Experience within the plastic injection industry is a plus.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to address multiple target audiences.

Ability to react and make decisions quickly.
