Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading global broadcast production company focused on providing managed services to major broadcast networks, corporations, and studios. It is also a top producer of live multicamera news, sports, entertainment, and corporate broadcast productions. BMG has operations in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Las Vegas.
Broadcast Management Group, is hiring a full-time Project Coordinator (PC) to provide ongoing support for on-location productions, remote productions, and day-to-day operations of our client’s Corporate HQ’s on-site broadcast and production facility. This position will provide hands-on support for client’s Studio, will manage client and vendor relationships, will oversee production intake, timelines, planning and approvals, and will assist in managing various productions as part of the studios global editorial content team. The PC will be responsible for the oversight of production requests originating from various parts of the organization, will build production schedules for projects in Studio 9A and off-site, will build production books, will be responsible for maintaining budgets and studio invoicing, managing freelance bookings, managing, and growing our freelance production network, and assisting with technical functions in the control room as needed (training will be provided). The PC must have extensive experience working in live, multi-camera production environments and have strong industry connections. Ideal candidates must be outgoing, have strong presentation and project management skills, be experienced in explaining complex production logistics in simple, relatable ways and have a track-record of building long-term client and vendor relationships.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a Project Coordinator for assigned projects and foster healthy long-term relationships with key stakeholders and clients
Oversee project intake requests and manage process from origination to completion
Create and distribute project schedules, timelines and call sheets for assigned projects
Book, schedule, and manage freelance labor to support existing staff as appropriate
Expand the company’s freelance database in both domestic and international locales
Facilitate the training of freelance technical personnel to fill-in on an as-needed basis
Maintain project budgets and oversee studio invoicing
Create and maintain project books
Assist in office services and necessary support for Studio 9A, including cleaning crews, contractors, security, office supplies, and other building services
Write a weekly report summarizing all project activities and goals/schedule for the upcoming week
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
1+ years of relevant experience
Production management experience
Project management experience
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Experience translating production jargon to non-production partners
Experience building schedules, call sheets, production overviews and in managing deliverables
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office 365 programs preferred
Availability and willingness to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines
Existing database and/or willingness to grow a local contributor network for production
Nice to have:
BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
Editing experience
Live production experience
Control room and/or large-scale production support experience
Previous experience working in a corporate setting preferred
