PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible to deliver N&T Sub-System Radio specifications and architecture consistent with the System Delivery Plan

Contributor to support N&T Sub-System Radio deployment activities (Installation, Test & Commissioning)

What are my responsibilities?

Elaborate N&T Radio Design specifications and architecture (Preliminary Design & Detailed Design) in line with contractual requirements and N&T Engineering rules. Rely on best practices inherited from previous projects (cross reviews with installation teams, cybersecurity teams, power experts…)

Develop and elicit Radio Design requirements in line with project needs (internal & external), with a specific focus on Radio spectrum management and Cybersecurity concerns

Study of country specific spectrum standards/regulations for usage of RF products to be deployed for the project

Identify specific technology requirements / gaps in collaboration with Product Architects.

Ensure that all N&T Radio Design elaboration follows Quality processes, including application of Adapt and Design N&T Processes, Methods and Guidelines

Ensure that Radio Design documents remain in line with project DFQ Gate Reviews milestones and are elaborated as per project Documentation plan

Minimize, by Design, the N&T Radio deployment cost, lead time and risks

Prepare & Execute Radio Interference surveys, Radio trackside surveys, Radio Train surveys and Radio Coupling tests

Elaborate N&T Radio Bill of Quantity (BoQ), including Design elaboration of dedicated Radio enclosure

Open and follow technical Change Requests to Product Engineering teams in charge of N&T products and solutions

Participate to the support of the functional validation phase of the sub-system (FIVP) for Radio part

Participate upon request, to Installation & T&C activities support activities in order to validate E2E performance : Radio Installation studies, Golden samples, Radio tuning activities, including support to troubleshooting tasks

Collect and consolidate Return of Experience (REX) to Product Engineering teams and to N&T Project Engineering teams

Provide iteration of the installation studies specific to N&T sub-system

Provide iteration of the Radio configuration files all along project life cycle till end of warranty period,

Prepare and execute DCS Radio Training

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

BE/Master’s degree in Engineering with 10+ yrs of relevant experience

Design/Engineering background

Experience

Mandatory:

Experience of radio deployments in industrial environment, including interference mitigation

Wifi protocol knowledge

Proven experience on monitoring tools and techniques (spectrum analyzer, IP analyzer, mib principles, etc)

Desirable:

Knowledgeable of interpersonal skills

Experience of technical coordination

4G/LTE knowledge

Resilience

Competencies & Skills

Strong knowledge and experience on Radio propagation and on Radio solutions with a specific focus on WiFi deployments (802.11a/b/n/ac)

Experience in IT/Supervision is an add-on.

Signaling and system architecture is an add-on.
