IT Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Description

Hummingbirds Innovations is seeking a talented IT Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team. As an IT Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and systems for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of cloud-based solutions.

Geospatial - 5-10+ years' experience working with proprietary and open-source geospatial data formats.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and implementing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure

Deploying and managing cloud-based systems and applications

Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability

Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards

Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance in cloud environments

Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure, and experience in system administration and networking. They should possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Cloud Systems Engineer or similar role

Development - Experience with geospatial software APl's for data transformation and analysis:

• Esri ArcPoly

• GOAL

• GeoPandas

• Optionally, PySAL or MovingPandas

Data Automation - Experience with automating geospatial data workflows through tools like:

ArcGIS GeoEvent Server

ArcGIS Workflow Manager

Apache Nifi

Geospatial Databases/Datastores:

ArcGIS Enterprise Database

Postgres

GeoMesa

Experience with ETL tools such as SAFE FM

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols

Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines

Security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are a plus

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
