Castleton Commodities International is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Front Office Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions across CCI’s global enterprise, utilizing Infrastructure as Code.

This position is a hands-on role responsible for managing a firmwide investment, trading, and analytics platform supported by APIs, applications, and visualization tools. Extensive knowledge of Terraform, coupled with expertise in AWS cloud technologies will be instrumental in shaping infrastructure and deployment strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong technical background to implement the delivery of cloud-based solutions and shape the DevOps strategy for CCI.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement cloud-native infrastructure solutions to support the entire software development lifecycle.

Lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring best practices for scalability, resiliency, and security.

Respond to mission-critical service issues to triage and resolve complex problems.

Partner with developers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, engineer, optimize, support, and maintain cloud-native solutions.

Provide guidelines and architect and implement tools to enable engineers and analysts to implement high quality applications.

Partner with the global IT organization to identify areas for automation and implement solutions to streamline IT workflows and operational processes.

Build, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment of front office applications.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical related field. Extensive hands-on work experience with a focus on AWS cloud-based infrastructure will be considered in lieu of a degree in a technical discipline.

10 years of IT work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in enterprise-level cloud-related DevOps roles.

Excellent understanding of modern DevOps practices.

Excellent understanding of AWS services; including EKS, ECS, and related services.

Prior experience setting up and managing EKS clusters.

Experience with CI/CD methodologies and container orchestration tools.

Experience with observability and performance monitoring technologies.

Advanced knowledge of IaC, specifically Terraform.

Understanding of networking concepts and OSI layers.

Experience designing and implementing DevSecOps practices.

Thorough understanding of change management control and the software development lifecycle.

Excellent analytical skills with experience in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of issues, with an ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and propose solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, possessing the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Team player with the ability to handle rapidly changing sets of projects and priorities in a timely manner.

A passion for the latest technological frameworks.

Fast learner who can adapt quickly and work in a dynamic environment while promoting a culture of experimentation and learning.
