University of Colorado Denver Department: Facilities Management Job Title: HVAC/R Technician Position: #2914 Requisition: #32592 Job Summary: Join the Facilities Management Department on the University of Colorado Denver Campus as a PMT-II Facilities Maintenance HVAC Technician (Housing). This is a full-time state classified position. The PMT-II Facilities Maintenance HVAC Technician position: On-call after hours (which includes weekends and holidays to support 24 hours a day, 7 days- a-week operation. Maintain all facilities and operating systems in a safe and efficient working order. The Refrigeration Technician position operates, monitors, services and/or repairs a wide array of refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, and associated hardware for all CU Denver campus buildings. It responds to emergency calls pertaining to HVAC and refrigeration problems, and emergencies throughout the campus, and ensures the safest and most efficient operation and training of personnel for the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) systems at CU Denver. The position handles work requests related work for occupant owned HVAC/R systems. You will record issues and make work reports via email, log your work in CMMS and monitor building systems in BAS and perform various other duties and tasks as required. Key Responsibilities: *

Must possess a current CFC Universal Certification, in order to work with CFC's, HCFC's, and HFC's. * Four years of progressively responsible experience in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry, with a minimum of two-year experience working with process chillers. * Successful completion of a formalized heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship program, or higher level, non- correspondence course work in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. Work overtime when needed to support the operation. NOTE: This position has been designated as essential personnel and will be required to respond to emergencies as needed. Position may also be required to stay late, come in early, or cover shifts as needed.
