Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Unitec Elevator LIC - Long Island City, NY Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $56.18 - $56.18 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Category: Construction A Elevator Maintenance Mechanic Summary: As a Class "A" Elevator Maintenance Mechanic, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of elevators and other lifting equipment.

You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the equipment, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any mechanical issues.

Responsibilities: * Inspect elevators of all types and makes, diagnose faulty operation, make necessary repairs and adjustments, and troubleshoot problems.

* Diagnose equipment deficiencies and recommend significant changes or requirements.

* Install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and other lifting equipment.

* Analyze and repair failures, especially in emergencies.

* Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.

* Repair or replace defective parts.

* Regular inspections should be conducted to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.

* Respond to emergency repair calls promptly.

* Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.

* Provide excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Qualifications: * Must have a valid NYS & NYC Mechanics License.

* Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school training in elevator repair.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in elevator repair and maintenance.

* Considerable initiative and a high degree of ingenuity are required.

* Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

* Valid driver's license.

Work Environment & Hazards: * Elevator Mechanics work in various building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial settings.

* Exposure to heights, confined spaces, and loud noises * Potential exposure to hazardous materials or conditions, including electrical shock, falls, and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Special Physical Demands: * Elevator Mechanics must be able to lift heavy objects and equipment to fifty pounds (50lbs) or more, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

* The job may require standing for prolonged periods and working in awkward positions.

* Manual dexterity for handling small tools and parts., good vision for close work, and reading schematics.
