Job Summary The Senior Manager of Global Safety will provide leadership and oversight to the development and implementation of overall health and safety operations.

This position will be responsible for developing strategy, leading all aspects of the safety management programs, and providing leadership across all the locations in US and Canada.

This is a highly visible, high impact position where a successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a decisive role in the future success and growth of the organization.

Must be someone willing and able to directly engage in tactical execution while simultaneously leading teams to their goals.

This leader will drive a culture of continuous improvement and support that culture for the field & operations, aiding in direction as required to improve effectiveness and overall performance.

This individual must be personable, dynamic, and innovative, and one who deploys an energetic day-to-day "roll-up-your sleeves" attitude.

Essential Job Functions Program Management * Collaborates and Coordinates program implementation and alignment for environmental, health and safety programs in Canada and USA.

* Work closely with leadership, Operations, regional, and local teams to provide environmental, health and safety guidance to build a strong Safety culture.

* Design, manage, and execute a Global program to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.

* Integrate Safety programs, including continuous improvement in procedures and tools, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Promote business growth by leading risk mitigation enhancements.

* Provide technical and regulatory support to the operations & field teams.

* Collaborates with teams to ensure all team members are provided with adequate tools and resources to ensure the safe execution of work.

* Reporting responsibilities and regular engagement with senior leadership within the organization.

* Takes appropriate action to achieve all targeted HSE SLA's and KPI's for the company.

Incident Investigation, Resolution, & Reduction * Ensure safety programs, policies, plans, and procedures align with regional and local regulatory oversight to meet compliance requirements by managing site audits and inspections.

* Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures for reporting, investigating, and analyzing claims, managing litigation, resolving claims, and delivering claim information.

* Actively involved in the integration of expansion, and new acquisitions from a Safety & Health lens.

* Actively involved in the divestiture or closure of sites from a Safety & Health lens * Reviews and responds to OSHA citations received.

* Develops and presents safety and OSHA data and communicates the Company's safety performance and compliance programs.

* Travel US and Canada.

* Leads the investigation and resolution of incidents for assigned business areas.

* Oversees and conducts root-cause analysis, identifies incident causes, and implements corrective and preventative measures.

* Oversees and tracks, records, maintains, and reports incident data.

Identifies and analyzes trends.

* Reviews, recommends, and implements modifications to work plans, processes, procedures to reduce recurring incidents and improve environmental, health and safety performance.

Communication & Training * Develops and ensures environmental, health and safety training are conducted in all areas of responsibility.

* Develops and deploys environmental, health and safety communication to team members across all areas of responsibility.

Compliance Management * Monitors and enforces compliance with all internal and external environmental, health and safety requirements.

* Oversees and/or conducts field inspections, job observations; environmental, health and safety audits and other types of reviews to monitor compliance to environmental, health and safety requirements and to identify risks.

* Communicates observations, non-compliance, and risks to stakeholders, and provides and implements corrective and preventative measures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

* Oversees and prepares and submits compliance reports as required.

The Senior Manager of Global Safety is expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities including immediately reporting hazards, immediately reporting unsafe work practices and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.

Education & Experience * BS/BA in Safety, HR or Engineering required plus 8-10 years' experience.

* Master's degree preferred.

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour General Industry Standards Experience managing EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures, preferably at a multisite distribution & manufacturing enterprise.

* Previous management experience directing a site and or regional team of EHS professionals Experience with Fleet and/or remote workforce management.

* Travel will be required for this role.
