We believe in the power of 1:1 education in order to support students holistically and inspire a love of learning, confidence, and self-advocacy. Our organization comprises three branches: our accredited homeschool Pacific Preparatory, our after-school tutoring program Tutor Corps, and our nonprofit scholarship program through the Tutor Corps Foundation. We strive to inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities and provide exceptional instruction in all K-12 subjects.

We are currently in search of an in-person teacher to work one-on-one with a 9th-grade student student with ADHD in Merced. The student works approximately at a 3rd-grade math level and a 5th-grade reading level. Please view more details about this job here: ideal candidate will have experience working with students with learning differences. Morning/early afternoon availability is preferred. This position will start in August 2024. Other online tutoring and teaching opportunities that begin before August may be available to the candidate as well. It is very important that you are able to commit through the 2024-25 school year.

Requirements

Teachers who work with us have at least one year of teaching experience, hold a bachelor’s degree, have superb written and verbal communication skills, and love making a difference in students' lives. Teaching credentials are a bonus but not required.

Experience teaching both math and reading/writing is a must, and you must feel confident supporting students with learning differences. The best instructor for this student will have a calm demeanor and great patience.
