Heavy Forklift Operator - Houston, TX

JOB SUMMARY Industrial Forklift Operator DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Demonstrate excellent judgment in estimating and executing appropriate size lifts * Unload and load steel hauling trucks for customers and company * Operate equipment safely and efficiently, protecting self and others from accident and injury * Document, count, and verify customer piece counts for shipping and receiving * Manage paperwork to properly identify incoming materials and outgoing products in accordance with established product control systems and shipping orders * Ensure the accuracy of the computers inventory system and the physical location and organization of inventory * Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and follow facility safety regulations Please note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS * One year of previous experience operating a 25,000lbs+ forklift in an industrial environment * The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing * The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions * Excellent hand and eye coordination * Must have a high awareness for safety at all times * The ability to be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, proximity to extreme heat, and moving mechanical parts
