PostgreSQL DBA

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to be responsible for ongoing administration of existing environments including defining, planning, implementing, and supporting physical PostgreSQL databases for the enterprise. You will be required to develop SQL Queries as required by Business Divisions; develop Stored Procedures; perform load Balancing and maintain High Availability; and ensure System Optimization by improving and restructuring the databases. Also, perform database Updates and Migrations; synchronize multiple Databases in various branches; generate comprehensive documentation; support database issues arising from Customer Queries; investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data inconsistencies; and provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for incidents.

This position requires a minimum of 7+ years of Database Administration experience with proven SQL and PostgreSQL experience including a significant background in creating complex stored procedures and SQL scripts in PostgreSQL. Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration and management needed. Proficiency in PostgreSQL Database Patching, Upgrades & Migrations is also a must. A thorough understanding of database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques required. Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as MySQL etc. is essential. Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL) needed. In addition, you must have an understanding of database normalization concepts; experience designing and automating repetitive processes; good hands-on scripting language; proficiency monitoring & in performance analysis; experience working with or in an automated operations environment (e.g. Ansible); and, experience managing operations on core & cloud-based infra environments. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and effective communication and collaboration abilities are a must. Must be willing to participate in 24/7 on-call support.
