Kane Veterinary Supplies is a Canadian wholesale distributor and manufacturer agent, providing excellence in distribution of the highest quality, cutting edge, value-laden products to the pet retail, veterinary, agricultural, and equine markets across Canada.

Job Summary

The Customer Returns Processor is responsible for finalizing all customer returns to make sure the return is compliant with company policy. This person will process the Returned Goods Notices (RGN) and track & report to management the reasons for the returns.

Essential Functions:

Unpack returned merchandise and inspect merchandise for quality and condition of product to determine return category.

Receive merchandise following all security and safety return procedures for each product type.

Distribute returned items to their proper location considering all factors including value of the product, return condition and type of return.

Document either electronically using the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process or manually using the Returned Goods Notice (RGN) the returned item(s) and include the return reason, customer feedback and instructions to ensure accurate processing.

Identify critical distribution issues and report them to the appropriate personnel (department heads, quality assurance).

Communicate with manufacturers, customers, and others within the organization regarding return matters.

Prepare and arrange for proper destruction of environmentally hazardous material.

Data entry

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional functions

Transacting all business in accordance to Patterson Companies business code of ethics and conduct.

Align with Patterson Companies Purpose, Vision and Values statement.

Use assigned warehouse equipment, machinery to perform assigned job.

Meeting and exceeding assigned performance metrics and KPIs.

Help maintain an organized, clean, safe warehouse.

Handle all hazardous materials, pesticides, veterinary drugs and veterinary biologicals according to the Company’s processes and procedures as well as all applicable laws and government regulations.

Performs all work in accordance with Company Safety guidelines and procedures, with safety and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to read, write and count accurately.

Has strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills, demonstrates sound judgment and excellent decision-making abilities, and shows a great attention to detail.

Must have a proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Ability to learn and pivot in a fast paced and fluid environment.

Uses technology with efficiency, including Microsoft 365, AIMS, and MS Outlook and Excel applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of warehouse operating procedures and protocol.

Fluent in verbal and written communication (Bilingual French and English is preferred)

Forklift certificate is required for those persons operating a forklift.
