Initiating a search for a Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing Engineer for a mid-sized, growing industry leading manufacturer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement activities, Kaizen events and establishing measurements for operational performance across the manufacturing facility. The position works with Senior Management to develop, set the pace and implement business transformational and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, commercial approach, culture, people and processes. Position will engage with employees to enhance the Lean culture and create an inclusive environment which encourages feedback to drive positive change.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

Develop a robust continuous improvement plan in partnership with the Management Team and key business stake holders.

Implement and support cultural change across the organization and drive business improvement.

Lead continuous improvement process using Lean Six Sigma technique and employee engagement. Support operational objectives through incremental improvement projects.

Facilitate Kaizen events and manages projects to completion. Follows up to ensure improvements are sustained and performance targets are achieved.

Establish operational performance metrics to provide visibility of performance and efficiency.

Optimize production layout, line balancing and process flow to improve productivity.

Support the development and maturing of the employee training program. standardization of work and documentation of production processes.

Train and educate the workforce on Lean tools and concepts; and serves as main resource for the culture of continuous improvement.

Perform Industrial Engineering analysis of new and established processes and recommend improvements.

Translate recommendations into business cases which demonstrate the potential return on investment.

Comply with 5s discipline to ensure that the immediate work area and all machines, tools, instruments, parts, and products are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years related experience.

Knowledge of applications of cutting tools, fixture design, CNC methods, work cells and all phases of machining in a precision machining environment.

Ability to work within a multifunctional team and independently.

Strong problem-solving skills with experience in 8D, 5 why, etc.

Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing experience/skill set (certifications a plus).

Ability to provide accurate manufacturing processes in detail to facilitate efficient manufacturing operations while minimizing defective material and scrap.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.

Must have knowledge of computers, machining and assembly practices, tooling and fixturing.

Experience with ergonomic safety and application.

Salary $90K - $120K, 10% bonus potential, good benefit package and attractive culture/work environment.
