Job Title: SCADA Engineer

Location: Houston

Position Type: Full-time

Job Description: As a SCADA Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems for various industrial applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of SCADA solutions with existing infrastructure while meeting project requirements and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems tailored to meet specific client requirements.

Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather system requirements and define project scope.

Configure SCADA software and hardware components such as HMI (Human-Machine Interface), PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), and communication protocols.

Develop custom scripts, logic, and algorithms to optimize system performance and functionality.

Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring reliability and stability.

Provide technical support and training to end-users and maintenance staff.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in SCADA systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Proven experience (5-10 years) in designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems.

Proficiency in SCADA software platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX, or similar.

Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.).

Experience with PLC programming and configuration.

Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, Oracle, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Professional certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional, Wonderware Certified Developer, etc.).

Experience with cybersecurity principles and practices in SCADA systems.

Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 61850, etc.).
