Job Summary: Ensure that equipment meets or exceeds customer requirements with respect to safety, quality, flexibility, and throughput. Establish process parameters and procedural requirements creating checks and balances to police conformance. Develop, analyze, and implement continuous improvement ideas to meet long term customer required cost reductions and maintain profitability. The scope of work includes all capital equipment and tooling for internal manufacturing systems.
Responsibilities:
Create and Revise Work Instructions and Processes as Defined
Project Planning
Document as Assigned
Understand Opportunities for Improvement and Report back to company Stamping Engineering as opportunities are identified
Manage New Model Part Trials from Tooling thru Launch Activities as assigned
Cost Justification of Refurbishment/Expansion Projects
Interface with Contractors / Skilled Trades, Affiliate Companies, Engineers and Equipment Manufacturers, Tryout leader for New Model Part Tryouts for Press and Die Operations
Investigate quality issues on steel and aluminum parts and judge appropriate countermeasures by strong relationship with all Shops.
Root Cause and Corrective Actions for Production Downtime Issues
Required Education and Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
5+ Years Stamping Experience, in a high volume, complex stamping environment.
Relevant experience with Stamping processes on progressive, transfer and universal dies.
Proficient in problem solving (8Ds, Ishikawa, Red-X, etc).
Ability to read, understand and suggest corrections to blueprints.
Stamping Press, Die Manufacturing and/or Automation Equipment knowledge
Thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerances
Automotive or automotive supplier experience
Interest in "Hands-On" Engineering
Experience in Stamping Die Manufacturability, Qualification Process and Die Trials both Internationally and Domestically
Assist in developing manufacturing documentation such as: PFMA, Flow diagram, standard work
