Job Description

DC Government Agency has an immediate need for an experienced HR Retirement Specialist. This is a HYBRID role, working 3 day sin the office and 2 remotely to support tasks related to the Retirement (voluntary plans) function include but are not limited to:

Manages the online third-party administration of transactions in the 403b tax shelter annuity plan; for loans, withdrawals, transfers, and rollovers that cannot be processed through the third-party administrator, receives, reviews for accuracy and completion, prepares for signature of the Plan Administrator, and processes Salary Reduction Agreements; and transmits applications and statuses to the requisite vendor and/or employee.

Provides detailed records research in official personnel files and in HRIS systems for employees retiring.

Interacts with employees via email and in person to outline retirement process.

Troubleshoots processing problems and liaises with the requisite groups, including the Office of Pay & Retirement Services, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, and retirement vendors.

Receives inquiries from vendors and employees regarding transactions processing.

Logs transactions, and ensures paperwork is filed in requisite Official Personnel Files.

Receives refund checks from vendors, forwards same to the Office of Pay and Retirement Services, and tracks reimbursement to employees.

Compiles data and runs periodic reports.

Works with the Manager, Compensation and Director, Benefits & Compensation to resolve critical retirement concerns received from the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, Resource Strategy Officer, and Deputy Chief, Employee Services.
