Job Description

Job Overview: The Site Inspector is a critical role that involves assessing and documenting damage in collaboration with various stakeholders. This professional engineer will conduct site inspections, document damage claims, and compile necessary documentation to support grant management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough inspections at damage sites.

Accurately document grant applicants’ damage claims.

Compile and enter data into grant management software.

Create detailed Damage Description and Dimensions forms.

Produce maps, photo markups, and sketches to supplement written reports.

Provide excellent customer service to applicants with prompt follow-up and a professional demeanor.

Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Completion of FEMA’s required courses, including IS-100, IS-200, IS-632, IS-700, IS-800, IS-1002, IS-1004, IS-1007, and IS-2900

Experience in building assessments, insurance adjustments, building code official duties, or construction industry experience.

Valid driver’s license.

Physical/Medical Fitness:

Moderate level of physical fitness required.

Professional and Technical Licenses and Certifications:

E/L 0865: Public Assistance Site Inspection course completion is recommended.

Must maintain an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Work Conditions:

Discuss logistics for deployment, such as working conditions, length of deployment, security, lodging, transportation, and meals, prior to deployment.
