The Director of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for planning, directing, and administering the activities of the Cardiovascular Service Line staff. This individual leads the area in ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures necessary to meet accrediting regulations.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leads the Cardiovascular Services personnel in the performance of various clinical and vascular procedures.

Works in conjunction with the System’s Executive Staff and the Cardiovascular Services Medical Staff to ensure the highest level of care for patients.

Leads, directs, integrates and coordinates the Cardiovascular Care Services Division; assists in ensuring the clinical practices are consistently high in regards to levels of clinical and professional services provided.

Analyzes current operational functions and industry trends to validate benchmark targets. Defines and promotes new targets based on research and consideration of overall system operations.

Collaborate with marketing to develop strategies to promote service lines.

Ensures optimal allocation of staff to workload ratios, to meet budgetary goals/objectives.

Prepares department budget to ensure operational costs are within organizational goals.

Promotes and participates in community outreach.

Promotes collaboration with other HRHS departments (ER, OR, HOSP, PULM).

Promotes collaboration with other facilities.

Ensures departmental compliance and maintains a quality control program to comply with organizational, departmental specific policies/procedures, safety and health standards, and state/federal regulations and accrediting agencies.

Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

Serves a population 18 years of age through geriatric.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Extensive cardiovascular and operational knowledge including all regulations and requirements of accrediting agencies.

• Strong computer skills.

• Strong customer service philosophy.

• Possesses excellent communication, presentation and verbal skills.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

•Strong understanding of cardiology service lines (esp. catch lab).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Kansas Nursing or Radiologic Technology license

• Experience working with physicians in developing programs, resolving issues and strategic planning.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Five years’ experience working as a manager in Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or related field.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Current licensure as a registered nurse or radiologic technologist in the State of Kansas. • Healthcare Provider BLS – if BLS is not American Heart Association, AHA BLS is required within three months of hire.

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

• American Heart Association BLS.
