We are currently seeking a Director, Content Sales, Americas to join our sales team based in our New York, New York headquarters.

Today, AMC is in search of a new Director of Content Sales, Americas, to aggressively drive strategic content licensing of AMC television and feature in the territory. The successful candidate will be a creative, results-driven individual, and team player, who can aggressively seek new international sales opportunities and markets, while balancing sales opportunities and windows against internal programming priorities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manage AMC’s international content licensing efforts across the Americas.

Support VP with key content licensing partnerships across the territory.

Oversee and maintain existing relationships for TV, both scripted and unscripted.

Research, identify, analyze, and pursue new international sales opportunities and partnerships.

Develop and own sales strategy and title specific sales plans in relevant territories.

Passionately represent AMC content to potential buyers at international markets, sales events, etc.

Contribute to internal greenlight process by providing reasoned sales estimates for future productions and acquisitions.

Build and maintain meaningful relationships with key clients, maintain a thorough understanding of key partner programming needs, finding the best, highest-value home for each title in each territory.

Thoroughly understand trends and embrace new technologies to generate more creative sale strategies and optimize sales.

Work closely and collaboratively with AMC departments to document and manage rights availability and evaluate sales opportunities against key internal programming priorities and revenue goals.

Work closely with media operations to oversee an effective and efficient localization and delivery process for outgoing content.

Work as a key part of the sales team to ensure a dynamic, creative and goals orientated sales organization.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

Bachelor’s degree

7+ years of progressive growth and results in a sales and distribution role, ideally with the Americas, with a strong preference for the media and entertainment industry. A passion for television and film.

Proven sales track record

Deep understanding of entertainment industry rights, and both existing and emerging business models (broadcast TV, SVOD, AVOD, FAST, etc.)

Drive and tenacity to open doors and build lasting sales relationships.

Strong and enduring industry relationships with international buyer (broadcasters, SVOD services, etc.).

Strong understanding and appreciation for the technical aspects needed to do holistic deals; proven ability to delve into new subject matters and quickly assimilate new levels of understanding.

Exceptional work ethic –ability to work long and flexible hours when required.

Track record and reputation for conducting business with the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

Ability to travel when required, particularly for sales meetings, content markets, industry trade shows/events and, if applicable, AMC networks office locations.

Team Player: Possesses a positive outlook, charismatic, with high-energy and contagious enthusiasm. Keeps strong focus on companywide goals and tactics, remembering that content licensing is only part of AMC’s broader, corporate strategy.

Detail Oriented: Has the ability to understand the details of current and future licensing deals, commitments, restrictions, etc.

The base compensation range for this position is $165,000 to $175,000 commensurate with experience.
