Vacuum Chamber Operator

Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting parts, hanging parts, and operating Vacuum Chamber equipment to apply specified aluminum coatings to parts for our customers. The Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician will be responsible for coating parts according to our various customer specifications and Company Standard Policies & Procedures including inspection of parts prior to, and after, application of the specified coating to ensure parts are uniformly covered. The Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician must be detail oriented and have the ability to maintain the highest quality standards during the coating process.

The Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician will also be responsible for preparing and completing all necessary documentation, and for reporting acceptance/rejection of coated and inspected parts. Candidate must have ability to demonstrate initiative, follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision and be skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment. The Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician will report to the Director of IVD (Ion Vapor Deposition) Operations & Production.

Other responsibilities that the Vacuum Chamber Operator/Production Technician will perform:

Follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Review and follow procedures as outlined on job cards indicating customer specification.

Fill and operate Vacuum Chambers to coat parts in aluminum per the required specifications.

Inspects masked/taped parts prior to coating.

Coats test pieces and convey to lab and Quality Department for inspection per customer specifications.

Takes dimensional measurement after base/final coating is applied; Inspects thickness of coated parts.

Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Communicate and work well in a diverse environment.

Other duties as required include assisting in the daily maintenance and quarterly cleaning of our Vacuum Chambers.

Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.

May need to work nights, limited weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.

Must be able to fill out all related paperwork, i.e., routers and/or internal records, accurately.

Keep work area clean.

Adhere to all company safety rules and practices and wear protective equipment as directed.

Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, or kneel.

Must be physically able to regularly lift parts of 10 lbs. or more.

Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.

Self-motivated and Problem-Solver attitude.

Strong Attention to detail and proactive communicator.

Capable of working with minimal supervision and demonstrates initiative.

Proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Strong communications skills.
