POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining software applications using a wide array of modern programming languages and frameworks. They are also knowledgeable in both the front end, back end of an application, as well as well-versed in databases, server configuration, user interface and more. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these layers of applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. The Full Stack Java Developer will work remotely, focusing on providing essential development support for the team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and improving the applications while ensuring they align with business requirements and objectives. The developer will also be responsible for supporting testing efforts and considering the constraints and capabilities of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS. A significant aspect of the role involves familiarity with code modernization and refactoring efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to analyze and define system requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Develop, maintain, and improve applications based on defined requirements.

Assist in the application development and rationalization process, ensuring optimal configuration and use of systems.

Understand legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS, and ensure that their capabilities and constraints are factored into the application development.

Provide testing support, including creating test cases and identifying test data needs.

Work closely with the development team to ensure code and documentation quality.

Understand and incorporate operational and system views into the development process.

Participate in code modernization and refactoring efforts.

Minimum Position Requirements

Strong knowledge of Java and full stack development.

Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools.

Understanding of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS - NATURAL, COBOL, ADABAS, FOCUS.

Ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with code modernization and refactoring.

Excellent communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of directly relevant industry experience.

• AA or 2yr TechSchool w/2+ years

Proven experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.

Knowledge of and experience with legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS - NATURAL, COBOL, ADABAS, FOCUS.

Experience with testing methodologies and tools.

Familiarity with code modernization and refactoring.

Must be a US Citizen and located in the continental United States.

Work Environment:

This is a remote role with a preference for candidates based in Dayton, OH or the DC area. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and training. The role requires collaboration with teams across different departments and locations.
